A recent article in US News and World Report highlights the importance of long-term preparation for the MCAT.
Amanda Schaffer, AT’s Head of MCAT, advises students that “the crucial first step in preparing for the MCAT is mastering the fundamental science material covered on the exam—knowing the concepts themselves and developing a clear sense of what you are (and are not) responsible for having at your fingertips. That way, when you work through science passages, it’s easier to recognize when you need to engage with new information, like definitions and data in the passage, and when you can answer questions simply on the basis of your background knowledge (which is possibly a lot more often than you might think!).”
