Kimberly is currently earning her Ph.D. in Biology at the University of Southern California, researching the evolutionary and genetic history of the Channel Island fox. Her work involves interdisciplinary approaches of population genetics, anatomy, statistics, and evolutionary biology. As part of her Ph.D. program, she teaches a laboratory biology class to USC undergraduates. Originally from British Columbia, Canada, Kimberly enrolled in French immersion at a young age and competed in written and oral French competitions. Though she always enjoyed a deep connection with science, her early passion for linguistics and the arts led her to her first degree in Broadcast Television from the British Columbia Institute of Technology. After working for multiple years as a video producer and graphic designer, she pivoted careers and went back to obtain a B.S. from the University of Washington, where she majored in Biology and minored in Paleontology. She is passionate about merging her expertise in both science and communications to develop unique approaches to her teaching and research.
