Vimala graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University in the Class of 2025 with an A.B. in Physics and Mathematics and a secondary in Linguistics. She was named a John Harvard Scholar for three consecutive years, awarded the Detur Book Prize for academic excellence, and received the Judge’s Prize at the Science and Cooking Fair.

Vimala has long been passionate about math, science, writing, and language. In high school, she earned Outstanding Student Awards in six subjects and was a six-time gold medalist on the National Spanish Exam. She also placed second on Long Island in the North American Computational Linguistics Open Competition and is particularly interested in American Sign Language and the linguistics of sign languages.

Her love of teaching began early and has only grown stronger. She started tutoring peers in middle school and went on to lead peer tutoring in math, chemistry, physics, Spanish, and writing in high school. At Harvard, she served as a course assistant for physics classes in electromagnetism and wave phenomena. Vimala brings a warm, supportive approach to tutoring, focusing on building students’ confidence and pride alongside core academic skills.

Outside academics, she enjoys singing, playing piano and ukulele, and baking complex desserts—especially when she can share them with family and friends.
