Vimala is in the class of 2025 at Harvard University with a 4.0 GPA, pursuing a major in physics and math with a minor in linguistics. She is a John Harvard Scholar based on her 2022–2023 and 2021–2022 academic records, winner of the Detur Book Prize for three semesters of work, and winner of the Judge's Prize for Science and Cooking Fair in 2022. At Friends Academy, Vimala won the Outstanding Student Award in math, chemistry, physics, biology, English, and Spanish.

In addition to leading the Science Olympiad Club and Math Club, Vimala was the peer tutoring leader for math, chemistry, physics, and Spanish. She was also a writing fellow. Vimala is a six-time gold medalist on the National Spanish Exam and placed second on Long Island in the North American Computational Linguistics Open Competition. Since middle school, she has been passionate about teaching and helping others.

Her non-academic interests include singing in the Radcliffe Choral Society, playing the piano and ukulele, and baking challenging desserts.
